Another Safety Upgrade:

Why do they put such anemic horns on big bikes - it's embarrasing, if not unsafe.  So I went searching on the internet and found that many bikers think the same.  A lot of them have opted to replace their sickly and weak stock horn with the "Freeway Blaster"  (Canadian Tire #20-2038-2).  It's pretty much a straight swap.  Now they'll know we're there!

New horn :)
 Robust!!!

Previous horn :(
Pathetic

Latest Safety Addition:

View the picture with the GPS below
and compare with this one.
Notice that the guage cover now has a leather cover over the chrome.
This is because when the sun is up high
the glare from the chrome is unbearable.
The leather guy (Marc Jameer) whipped this up in about an hour.

Accessories and Upgrades:

For those of you who are interested in accessories and upgrades this is what we have added to our ride...

Kuryakyn grips

Passenger floor boards

 Garmin Zumo 220
Motorcycle GPS

Driver backrest and
Luggage rack

Kuryakyn highway pegs

Just a week to go until we take
this machine on a trek of several thousand km's.
Lot's to do!  The Zumo 220 GPS comes with "MapSource" software that allows us to custom design our daily routes on a computer, then upload them into the GPS.  We're working
on the routes now but there are 16 of them to do.
(Don't worry - we won't program the spontaneity
out of our ride - what kind of adventure would that be?)
Soon to be uploaded are pics and specs of us in our riding gear...

This is our ride...  2006 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Classic LT - in the original condition in which we received it.

A lot more has been added to it over the years so I will soon provide another photo to bring you up to date.
